In the most recent events of the weekend I went to AWA or Anime Weekend Atlanta for those not familiar with it. Well the cosplays...awesome the most amazing handmade cosplays I've seen even talking to the cosplayers about what they did in the development in making the costumes and the time and money put into it. I even spoke with a girl that said she spend over $400 the fabrics and basic materials like foam and wood to make the props. There was a few girl that even cosplayed a few of my favorite anime characters like Satsuki from Kill la Kill and Ciel from Black Butler. It was one of the best experience about the con has to just be for the cosplayers alone. They are like the sweetest people on Earth gathers in a tiny confines of a giant area.I have to say I made a few new friends during those three weeks I was there in the Cobb Galleria in Atlanta.Hope to see them new year but anyway
Well with all good things, there are bad. The bad cosplayers.....Yes they do exist sadly but not bad as in 'Oh your costume sucks.Don't quit your day job," but the cosplayers who don't know the meaning of a shower. I know what your saying "Well I works on this cosplay for 5 months, blah blah blah." Well honey the people you walk around don't wanna smell the stench emanating from your pores like been wearing it for 5 months. It was so bad,goo thing it was just one cosplayer I came across it was just....Ugh so bad I literally had to hold my nose in line. They were the essence of what not to do at a con. Don't get me wrong she was cute in her little neko(cat) outfit very fitting but the girl needed a bath. I wanted to say something but it's like a didn't have the urge to crush the girl's happiness with a comment like that. So after much debating on whether or not to tell the poor girl she needs to roll around in some soap and water and I broke down and ended up not telling her....Yeah I'm a bad person, but what can you do? I got the Ouran High poster I wanted though! So I win in the end!

What is Cosplay?
A person cosplaying Link from Zelda
cos·play
ˈkäzˌplā/
noun
- 1.the practice of dressing up as a character from a movie, book, or video game, especially one from the Japanese genres of manga and anime.
As the definition implies it is a dressing up as a character from books, and video games but mostly term used among the anime(Japanese word for animation) community. The community was inspired by the Japanese who first began cosplaying as they are the origin of anime itself. As anime and manga became popular to be spread all abroad to other countries around the world who continued this trend in their own countries and spread the joy and find people who have similar if not equal interest in the same thing as you.
Where do people go in their overly priced outfits and flamboyant, bright accessories and props and you might ask? Conventions of course. Because nothing said 'look at me act like a character I wish I was for 3 days without the judgement of the normal outside world'! Yay! But cosplay is all in good fun. Some where them for personal excitement for the character that they feel they connect with or they're the victim of a friend who force cosplay upon them without the concern of how they felt about dressing up, you know because cosplay is weird and only desperate attention seeking freak do it. So now you know what cosplay is you can go online and shop for that $200 Princess Zelda outfit that takes two months to ship because its all made by hand and you only paid basic shipping so it won't be ready for the con on time. But you know it's fine because you will have it eventually!
